Los Cabos

Why visit one fabulous destination when you can visit two! Los Cabos (the Capes) is a vibrant seaside playground at the very tip of the Baja California coast with two delightful faces: Cabo San Lucas with its famed rocky ocean arch to the southwest and San Jose del Cabo with its artsy vibe to the northeast. Not to mention the upscale sandy corridor in between. Though the sister destinations are just 22 miles apart, they offer very different experiences. Cabo San Lucas is a bustling resort city with a lovely marina and an Instagram-worthy ocean arch that heads up all the postcards. San Jose, on the other hand, boasts the quaint charm of a small Mexican town peppered with art galleries and boutique restaurants.

Weather:

Over 320 days of sunshine each year and less than 10 inches of rain in Los Cabos. The summers are long, hot, and humid while the winters are comfortable and dry. Temperature typically varies from 60°F to 93°F (15°C to 33°C).

Getting there:

The best way to get to Los Cabos is by air, arriving to Los Cabos International Airport (SJD). Private jets can land at SJD or the airport in Cabo San Lucas (CSL). Alternatively, you can arrive by helicopter or boat.

Geography:

Los Cabos is about 900 miles south of San Diego, USA close to the Tropic of Cancer. A region of mountains and coastal plains, the mostly desert area is dry and rocky, sitting where Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean.

Gastronomy:

Enjoy the best chefs in the privacy of your villa, or Cabo San Lucas is packed with fab restaurants and endless bars with live music while San Jose is laid back with more gourmet options. You have to try the famous fish tacos.

Beaches:

While not all of Cabo’s coastline offers sandy swimming beaches, there are more than enough beauties to go around. The dramatic cliffs in some areas offer fantastic photo ops.

Golf:

Los Cabos has some of the world’s best golf courses with more than one course designed by Jack Nicklaus, including his first course in Latin America.

Shopping:

San Jose del Cabo offers quaint boutique-style shopping and plenty of cool art galleries featuring both local and international artists, while Cabo San Lucus has multiple glitzy plazas and a marina lined with designer stores.
