Hola Amigos!
This month, I want to bring your attention to a wonderful party that is about to happen on the 23rd of April! The event is the fabulous End-of-Season Party and the venue is my beloved Vista Paraiso Ranch in Higuera Blanca.
The first week I moved to this spectacular area eight years ago, I knew I would want to buy a horse of my own so I could explore the beaches, jungles and mountains with my new friend. I found the ranch – hidden away in Higuera Blanca – and introduced myself to the owners. The Romero family has been here for many generations and, for some unknown reason, they welcomed me to their bosom as a brother.
I think that wherever you are in the world if you have a passion for the land, its produce and an appreciation of all things equestrian, you will find your kindred spirits. Of course, spirits may have had something to do with the bonding process – for this was the location of my induction to Tequila. As well as favourite varieties of Mexican Scotch. And, there may have been a few (cases) of beer thrown in for good measure.
Over the years, the ranch has flourished. At first, I was the only one to board my then-sturdy steed Coco with them. Back then, there were a few trail horses to take you on magnificent trail rides, two stalls, some chickens and a couple of majestic parrots. Over the last eight years, I have worked alongside the Romeros to come up with a full spectrum of exciting adventures, including ATV rides, Zip Lining and a Petting Zoo.
Like all great evolutions, during the course of introducing my new Punta Mita friends to my little private hideaway, we developed the concept for an equestrian center along with arenas, a full-time instructor, daily classes, ten primo stables and even polo practice.

Now you have an idea of where this spectacular event will take place.
The event itself brings me to another great passion…food! In true cowboy or “Ranchero” style, we’re having a BAR B Q! Not just any Bar B Q, either. We are putting ourselves in the expert hands of a local resident and self-proclaimed pit master with the very non-Mexican name of “Hal”!
As if this wasn’t enough, direct from Australia via Dallas, is an old Punta Mita friend, Andrew Ormsby. I’ll be helping with food tastings, drink tastings and maybe a few ticket sales.
As if all this were not enough, the real cowboys are working hard to put their beautiful, four-legged friends through their paces to provide a traditional Mexican Charro show. This will showcase incredible dancing horses, the ever-popular Mexican Banda music – Lisa’s favourite – the incredibly beautiful, fearless and amazingly talented escaramuzas and, to round it all off, a great DJ!
Tickets are available from my office in the village.

Great newsletter Miguel!!!! Very informative. Just one suggestion, under your contact you should change E Faro, Punta de Mita to Faro de Mita, Punta de Mita. The El Faro condominiums are on the beach in Emiliano Zapata.
Ciao!
